When we think about bathroom remodeling and Feng Shui we are literally focusing on a philosophical approach to the design of the bathroom. The term, with which many people are familiar, is Chinese and translates to literally mean water and wind. The concept of bathroom Feng Shui is to look at a way of making sure the flow of energy, or chi, within the room is in the most effective and convenient possible way.

Feng Shui advocates that water is actually very useful in our lives and a source of energy and teaches us ways to make use of this energy to influence our own environment in a big way. Whether we are at home, in our offices, market place, we have the potential to maximize our well being to ensure the success in areas such as our relationships, career and school.

When we apply these ideas to our bathroom what we are doing is designing the room in a way that maximizes not only our health and well being but also prosperity.

To do the job correctly, there are key tools that are often used such as Bagua color charts. The philosophy behind Feng Shui is deeply rooted in religion and may be a hard concept to grasp but its use, even with minor changes will produce a neat and attractive room that will provide a lot of pleasure to spend time in.

If you study the principles and philosophy behind Feng Shui then you will come top realize that the location of the bathroom within the house is vital in terms of dictating the flow of wealth and prosperity. Indeed, if the room is on the second floor of the house above a structure like the main door then it is believed you will be preventing the flow of money.

Another place that may destabilize the flow of energy within the whole of the house is if it is positioned in the centre. Unless your are undertaking a new build or complete renovation it is likely that the bathroom will already be in place and fixed in terms of its location.

One of the most important functions of the bathroom is in the elimination of waste. According to the philosophy, any blockage that may occur within the room may result in a blockage in your financial flow which could dent your financial state.

Although it may be difficult for some people to give these ideas much credibility, some scientific studies have shown that there may be real benefits to it. My best advice is to give it ago and apply some of these philosophical principles and see if it helps with your well being.

Feel out of control in your life? Feel like the success you desire is out of reach? Feng Shui can help you take command and open yourself up to growth and success. Find out how.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese system of rules, concepts and principles which attempts to explain the impact on people's lives of the layout and design of their homes/businesses and the impact of the environment around them. The literal Chinese translation of feng shui is wind and water. The principles are still treated with some scepticism in the West but I think a very pertinent analogy can be drawn between acupuncture about which Westerners were similarly doubtful but which is now seen as a valid alternative medicine in its own right.

We as westerners LOVE rules. We live by rules, create rules, and slather ourselves with rules at every opportunity. If rules were tangible objects, we would roll in piles of them at every opportunity. We like information to be packaged neatly, delivered in measurable doses. Just like a diet and it's rigid rules, this type of approach rarely ever gives the benefits it promises.
