There are four types of cloudy water: green, yellow, brown and white. Each comes from a different cause.
Water That Is Green And Cloudy
Blue-green algae bloom causes the green cloudy water. When the tank has too much decaying material, such as uneaten food or fish waste, nitrites develop in it.
